Advisor FAQ
What kind of advisor is NWMG looking for?
We are not a firm for individuals without a calling to serve in our industry. The NWMG Advisor is committed, does not require a manager for direction, and enthusiastic about learning and teaching sound money principals.
Does NWMG offer transition assistance or up-front comp?
NWMG does offer administrative support and the ability to make case by case concessions to support a smooth transition. We do not, however, provide up-front compensation to entice a move. Instead, we maintain a lower cost structure that optimizes advisor payouts over time. A better deal over time.
Where are NWMG offices located?
NWMG has affiliate offices in various cities including Cincinnati Ohio, Coconut Creek Florida, and Las Vegas, NV. These offices can accommodate additional advisors and teams under a shared cost arrangement. Most NWMG affiliates secure their own office space, running boutique practices within the NWMG framework.
Can I keep my LPL Financial affiliation?
NWMG permits its advisors to affiliate with LPL Financial, however it's important to note that it is a completely separate entity. The costs of affiliation are dependent on a variety of factors that are best addressed by discussion. The additional costs can be substantial so we recommend refining your business plan prior to committing to the hybrid model.
Can I join an existing NWMG team?
Absolutely! Many of our advice teams are open to enhancing their existing teams with the right fit.
Do you sponsor junior advisors?
NWMG is a firm for experienced advisors, however many of our teams actively sponsor junior advisor roles you could apply for. If interested, submit your resume and we can see if there's a match for you.
Who owns my book of business?
You do. This is a big deal. Many RIAs do not assign ownership to the IAR, which makes it difficult to change firms if your situation changes. Your clients are yours and they will stay that way.
Does NWMG offer succession plans for retiring advisors or as a backup in case of death or disability?
Yes, NWMG can work with you to acquire your practice either as part of a retirement plan or in unplanned circumstances. Most often, NWMG works with advisors within the firm to establish warm succession plans or broker agreements with other advisors at firms. Either way, we have your back.
Who do I reach out to if I want more information?
